Colorado AI Act Becomes First Major US AI Enforcement Event

The Colorado Consumer Protections for Artificial Intelligence Act is scheduled to take effect
on 30 June 2026, marking one of the first significant AI-specific enforcement milestones in
the United States. The legislation introduces governance obligations for developers and
deployers of high-risk AI systems, including disclosure requirements, risk management
processes, and human oversight provisions.
